Who I am
This site is operated by Jon Garrett Turner, trading as Precision English Services, an autónomo registered in Madrid, Spain. I am the data controller responsible for personal data collected through this website.

What data I collect, and why
I try to collect as little personal data as possible. Specifically:
Inquiry form
If you contact me through the inquiry form on the homepage, I collect the information you choose to provide — typically your name, email address, and the content of your message. The legal basis is your consent (for general inquiries) or the steps necessary to enter into a contract at your request (when you are inquiring about services).
Email correspondence
If you write to me directly, I keep your email and my reply for as long as necessary to maintain our correspondence and any business relationship that follows. The legal basis is your consent or the performance of a contract.
What I do not collect
This site does not currently use analytics, advertising trackers, or any cookies of my own. The site does not build profiles of visitors, track behaviour across pages, or share data with advertising networks.
If I add analytics in the future — for example, a privacy-respecting tool to count page views — I will update this policy and disclose it before turning anything on.
Who else processes your data
I use the following service providers to operate this site and its services. Each is a data processor acting on my instructions, bound by their own GDPR-compliant data processing terms.
- Cloudflare, Inc. (United States) — hosts the website on Cloudflare Pages and routes traffic. Cloudflare may log IP addresses for security and abuse prevention.
- Google LLC (United States) — provides Gmail and Google Sheets for receiving and storing inquiry-form submissions. Google's data practices are governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
Some video posts embed YouTube videos. YouTube may set cookies and collect data when you interact with embedded videos. I use YouTube's privacy-enhanced embed mode where possible, which limits tracking until you click play.
International transfers
Cloudflare and Google are based in the United States. Transfers to the United States are made under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or, where applicable, Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission.
How long I keep your data
Inquiry-form submissions: as long as necessary to respond to your inquiry and, if it leads to a business relationship, for as long as that relationship continues plus any period required by Spanish tax and accounting law (generally six years for invoiced transactions). If your inquiry does not lead to a business relationship, I delete it within twelve months.
Email correspondence: as above.
Your rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation, you have the right to:
- Ask what personal data I hold about you (right of access)
- Ask me to correct inaccurate data (right to rectification)
- Ask me to delete your data (right to erasure)
- Ask me to restrict how I use your data (right to restriction)
- Receive your data in a portable format (right to data portability)
- Object to my processing of your data (right to object)
- Withdraw consent at any time, where consent is the legal basis
To exercise any of these rights, write to jon@precisionenglishmadrid.com. I will respond within one month, as required by GDPR.
If you believe I have handled your data improperly, you have the right to complain to the Spanish data protection authority, the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (AEPD).
Security
I take reasonable measures to protect personal data, including using HTTPS for all site traffic and choosing service providers with documented security practices. No system is perfectly secure, however; if a data breach affects you, I will notify you and the AEPD as required by law.
Changes to this policy
If I change this policy materially — for example, by adding a new processor or a new category of data — I will update the date at the top of this page and, where required, notify you directly.
